UP researchers among award recipients at the 75th anniversary of ZAG
The Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To mark this occasion, a formal event was held yesterday at the Union Hotel in the heart of Ljubljana.
Numerous distinguished guests gathered at the event. Among them was the keynote speaker, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aleš Žnidarič, Director of ZAG, along with Prof. Dr. José Torero from University College London and Dr. Vanja Samec. The guest of honor was Prof. Dr. Igor Papič, Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
Prof. Dr. Klavdija Kutnar, rector of UP, and Prof. Dr. Andreja Kutnar, InnoRenew CoE director, attended the event. UP and InnoRenew CoE have been successfully collaborating with ZAG for several years on various research projects and other activities. ZAG is also one of the founders of the InnoRenew CoE and was a key partner in the InnoRenew project, led by UP.
In addition to the mentioned guests, many representatives from domestic and international companies, as well as research institutes, participated at the event.
Among the prizes awarded were a member of the Department of Applied Natural Sciences at UP Famnit and a member of the Department of Technology at UP IAM. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrea Lucherini (UP Famnit) received the Turnsek Award and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andraž Legat (UP Famnit/UP IAM) received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The latter is also a member of the InnoRenew CoE Council.
